About Me

Crafting Excellence Through Craft & Innovation

In 2020, I began my journey with a small studio where I focused on both production and teaching. Over the years, I trained more than 2,500 students in ceramic and porcelain techniques, offering hands-on workshops for beginners, professionals, and creatives.

As my practice grew, I started designing and producing tableware and presentation pieces for hotels, cafés, and restaurants—building a large portfolio of partners and hundreds of industry references.

Within a few years, I expanded my small studio into a full-scale ceramic and porcelain workshop with multiple employees. I led every stage of the operation: product development, mold making, slip casting, quality control, and the day-to-day workflow of a growing production facility.

Later, I imported industrial machinery from China and continued my work as a product manager within my own company, overseeing production planning, technical processes, and sales operations.

Today, I combine traditional craftsmanship with modern production techniques, creating functional, durable, and aesthetically refined ceramic pieces—while helping others learn and grow through education, design, and hands-on practice.

Core Skills

What I Do

Areas of Expertise

Bringing together production engineering, design intelligence, and hands-on ceramic mastery.

Industrial Ceramic Production

End-to-end experience in porcelain production lines, including workflow design, capacity planning, process optimisation, and operator coordination.

Production-Oriented 3D Modeling

Advanced modelling in Fusion 360, Blender, ZBrush, and SolidWorks for mold-ready geometries, split-line logic, shrinkage mapping, and technical prototyping.

Mold Engineering

Design and fabrication of slip-casting, multi-part, and jigger/jolley molds with high dimensional accuracy and long production life.

Form Development & Prototyping

Transforming concepts into production-feasible prototypes; refining geometry for stability, release behaviour, drying performance, and repeatability.

Process Management & Line Setup

Strong practical competence in setting up casting stations, balancing drying cycles, calibrating machines, and maintaining production stability under volume pressure.

Technical Problem Solving

Ability to diagnose and resolve form-related issues, deformation patterns, mold failures, casting inconsistencies, and workflow bottlenecks.

Material Behaviour & Clay Systems

Practical understanding of porcelain body behaviour, density management, slip dynamics, and drying/firing performance—focused on technical reliability, not decorative experimentation.

Kiln Operation & Cycle Logic

Experienced in programming and controlling firing cycles for porcelain production needs (not artistic firing), ensuring dimensional stability and minimising loss.

How I Work

My Production Approach

My workflow integrates design capability with strong process knowledge and hands-on manufacturing experience in both studio and industrial environments.

01

Concept & Technical Design

I begin by defining the form, production method, and technical constraints. Using Fusion 360, I create production-oriented 3D models—optimizing wall thickness, draft angles, tolerances, shrinkage behaviour, and mold separation logic.

02

Prototype & Form Validation

I produce an initial physical model to validate proportions, ergonomics, and production feasibility. If necessary, I restructure the form, adjust split lines, and refine details to ensure stable mold release and predictable behaviour during casting and drying.

03

Mold Engineering

I design and produce molds depending on the required workflow: Slip-casting molds, Multi-part complex molds, Jigger/Jolley tooling, Functional and large-scale forms. At this stage, I focus on mold life, absorption balance, parting logic, dimensional stability, and series consistency.

04

Production Setup & Workflow Management

I manage the entire production setup: Line organisation and workstation layout, Slip density and casting cycle control, Drying flow and timing optimisation, Batch planning and capacity scheduling, Machine maintenance and troubleshooting, Operator coordination and training.

05

Finishing & Dimensional Consistency

I supervise trimming, assembling, fettling, and finishing operations. Each batch is checked for form accuracy, shrinkage behaviour, deformation risks, and overall production consistency.

06

Process-Based Quality Evaluation

Quality control is done directly through process indicators: Warpage tendency, Drying and firing deformation, Surface issues, Form deviation, Batch uniformity. If defects are process-related, I revise the form, mold, or workflow before scaling to mass production.

My Journey

Career Timeline

2025 – Present

Independent Consultant

Ceramic & Porcelain Production Development

Providing mold design, product development, and technical production support to large-scale ceramic and porcelain factories. Focus areas include slip casting systems, industrial mold optimization, production planning, and design-driven manufacturing solutions.

2024 – 2025

Art Parla Porselen A.Ş.

Co-Founder & Production Manager

Co-founded a porcelain manufacturing company with 50% ownership. Imported industrial machinery from China, managed a production team, and led the full cycle of 3D modeling, mold design, and serial production. Successfully scaled operations and later sold my shares at a profit.

2020 – 2024

Malerisch Art Studio

Founder & Educator

Founded and operated a ceramic and porcelain studio, teaching over 2,500 students in four years. Provided training in porcelain techniques, mold making, creative production, and studio establishment. Many students went on to open their own workshops.

2015 – 2020

Faculty of Fine Arts

Visual Arts (B.A.)

Studied sculpture, painting, and ceramics. Worked in monumental sculpture teams and contributed to ornamental restoration (kalemişi) of historical building domes. Gained extensive hands-on training, technical craftsmanship, and a strong interdisciplinary artistic foundation.
